Pastoral Staff
Dr. Byron Brown, Pastor
In August of 2004, I was privileged to be called as the Senior Pastor of Redemption Church. I completed my Master of Divinity in Expository preaching in 2003, and my Ph.D. in Preaching in December of 2009. I have a deep passion for biblical exposition of God's Word so that believers will grow in their delight of God and unbelievers will have their eyes opened by God’s grace to the riches in Christ. I desire to see Redemption Church be an effective tool for God to reach all types of people in the Northshore region who need to be redeemed by God from their lostness in sin and brought into God’s family. I pray that God makes Redemption Church a place that truly Delights in God, Declares Jesus, and Disciples all people.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Liz, and we are blessed with four beautiful children, Caroline, Matthew, Benjamin and Zachary
Andrew Pohlmann, Worship Minister
In February of 2015 I came on staff as Worship Minister to Redemption Church of Lacombe and feel privileged to be a part of this family of believers. It is my passion to see believers engage in worship of our one true God and see their lives changed. I am humbled, amazed, and thankful that the Lord has allowed me to lead His people in worship of our Lord and Savior. Scripture teaches us that we should not only worship God corporately but that we should lead lives of worship everyday. I hope to see lives changed by the Gospel and see believers worship in Spirit and Truth. I am excited to see what God will do!
I am blessed to be married to my wonderful wife Amanda and the Lord has blessed us with three beautiful daughters. We are so thankful to be here with this church family and we are excited to see God work in people’s lives. I graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Worship and Music Studies. Currently I am seeking my M.A. in Media Arts and Worship from Dallas Theological Seminary online. I also enjoy telling stories through video of what God has done and how He is working in and through people and changing lives.
John Nogueras, Family and Member Care Pastor
In June of 2020, I was brought on staff as the Family and Member-Care Pastor. I completed my Master of Divinity in Non-Licensure Counseling and my Master of Divinity in Chaplaincy in May of 2021 at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I am excited and blessed beyond measure to be able to serve the people of Redemption Church and beyond in areas such as preaching, teaching, pastoring/shepherding, discipleship, assimilation, and counseling.
My desire is to see all people come to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to grow in their walk with Him by the power of the Holy Spirit, and to empower them to share the good news of Jesus Christ so that others can have a relationship with Jesus. My vision is neatly encapsulated by Redemption Church’s Mission statement, to glorify God by delighting in God and by declaring the life-changing message of Jesus and by discipling all people so that everyone can delight in God’s supremacy over all things. All people are on a spiritual walk, whether they have yet to know Christ, have just come to faith, or are seasoned believers in Jesus. My desire also is to walk alongside all people, men, women, couples, youth, and children and counsel them in order to provide the care, guidance, and spiritual direction they need to abide in Jesus.
I am grateful to be married to my amazing wife Gail. We have six children (Sarah, John II, Stephen, Olivia, Grace, and Esther), a son-in-law (Sean), two grandsons (Liam and Ezra), and a daughter-in-law (Grace).
John Jamison, Student Pastor
In April of 2021, I began my role as the Student Ministries Pastor of Redemption Church. My passion is to see student hearts and minds illuminated with the Gospel of Jesus. I endeavor to partner with parents and families to produce followers of Christ who are mature and fully assured in all the will of God. I truly love my job as it allows me to study God’s Word and have fun with the next generation. I attended Liberty University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Religion in 2012, and I hope to return soon to pursue work in Biblical Languages. I spent over 20 years serving in the United States Coast Guard as an Aviation Mechanic and Flight Crewmember where I participated in Search and Rescue. As a pastor, I am now on a new search and rescue mission with Jesus. I am married to my best friend Blair, and together we have three crazy kiddos; Hays, Declan, and our daughter Elliot.
