Thank you for taking the time to explore the ministry of Redemption Church of Lacombe through our website. Our desire as leaders and as a church is to be a church that glorifies God in all that we do. We seek to glorify God by Delighting in God, Declaring Jesus to others, and by making Disciples of all people so that those who come to faith in Jesus can also take great delight in the God who has redeemed them. As you look around our site, please feel free to contact us and ask any question that you may have. We truly believe that God has great plans for this church and we would love to have you join us for worship. When you join us, please come as you are. There is no need to worry about fancy clothes. Many of our people dress casually so please feel free to come as you are. I look forward to having you in worship. If you choose to come worship with us, below is a brief explanation of what you might find on your first visit with us. – Pastor Byron
Our small group ministry is an important part of accomplishing our Discipleship component of our mission. We have Small Group Bible studies for every age group for nursery age, children, youth, and adults that meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am and some Small groups that meet during the week at different individual’s homes. When you come on Sundays, don’t worry about knowing where to go; we have helpful greeters that can guide you to your proper group.
Simply stated, our desire in worship is to glorify the God who has redeemed us! Whether we sing a modern worship song or hymn from centuries gone by or whether we quote a scripture as a church, our desire is to sing praise to our wonderful Savior. After time in musical worship, our Senior Pastor continues to lead us in worship through the teaching of God’s Word. Our pastor preaches straight from the Bible and explains the meaning of the passage of scripture and then relates God’s Word to our everyday lives and then offers a challenge on how to live out God’s Word.
Whether you are attending a Small Group or attending worship, we take great pride in caring for the children that God entrusts to us. So, whether you are dropping off your child at one of the children’s Small Group Bible Studies or an infant in the nursery, all of our volunteers who work with children have to pass a background check and have to be a member for a set amount of time. Additionally, we are intentional to teach and disciple the children in our care. Beginning in nursery through all of our children’s classes, our teachers intentionally teach God’s Word and work on scripture memory with the children to instill the truth of God’s Word in their minds. We truly believe God’s Word is powerful to change the lives of our children.
Preschool (BIRTH- 4 Years Old)
We believe it's possible to share the love of Christ and Biblical truths with a child from the day of their birth. Here's what you can expect each week in our Preschool ministry. In our infant and toddler room, our volunteers pray over every child and quote scriptures over them while they are under their care. In our preschool room, the children learn a Bible story and usually have a craft that relates to the Biblical story as well. We also work on memorizing a verse for a whole month so that the children will have time to learn and meditate on the scripture being memorized. When you pick up your child, the preschoolers will usually have a paper or a craft from their Bible Story.
Our Check-in begins 15 minutes before our Small Groups and our Worship service. If you are a first-time guest, you will need register online or when you check-in to give us information about your child. At that time, one of our nursery volunteers will provide you a copy of our nursery policies. You'll then receive a numbered security sticker which serves as your child's name tag. You'll also receive a pager and a matching numbered security tag which is required to retrieve your child later. This pager also helps us notify you in case of a medical or behavioral issue.
